What We Do Not Take On
We work on residential garage doors and openers - springs, cables, tracks, rollers, panels, and the drive units that lift them. That covers most of what's sitting in driveways across this part of the Piedmont, where housing stock runs mostly 1960 through 2006, with a thick band from the 1980s and 90s. A lot of those original openers are long past their service life, and torsion spring sizing on the older side-mount setups isn't something you guess at over the phone.
What we don't do: commercial rolling steel doors, gate operators, and fire doors. We also don't quote sight-unseen on anything structural - if a header is sagging or a track is pulled out of the framing, that's a repair that needs eyes on it before a number means anything. We're not a fabrication shop, so if a panel is a custom size or an obsolete profile, we'll tell you that up front rather than string out a job we can't finish right.
An honest limitation: if parts for an older or imported door aren't stocked locally, lead time runs longer than a same-week repair, and we'll say so before you commit rather than after.
How to Reach Us
Call 1-803-455-2789 to get a quote started, or come by 1565 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. We cover Rock Hill and work out to the surrounding area - Newport, India Hook, Lesslie, and Riverview sit within about 5-6 miles, Baxter Village and Tega Cay around 7, and we'll run jobs as far as Lake Wylie, York, and McConnells (12-13 miles), with Richburg, Clover, Fort Lawn, Eureka Mill, and Chester further out still.
For a phone quote, have the door's measurements, the brand if it's visible on the opener housing, and a sense of what's actually wrong - won't open, makes noise, opener runs but door doesn't move, that kind of detail. Photos help more than a long description. If you're not sure what's broken, that's fine too; just tell us what the door is doing and we'll ask what we need.
Plain Answers
A quote over the phone is a range, not a final price. What locks in a firm number is seeing the door: spring size and winding, track condition, whether the opener is original to the house or a replacement, and whether the damage is isolated to one part or has spread to the hardware around it. Two doors that look the same from the street can need completely different repairs once the panel's off.
Household income in this area runs around $86,500, and most of the doors we're quoting sit in houses built between the 1960s and mid-2000s - which matters because older torsion hardware and discontinued panel profiles cost more to match than current stock. Winters here are moderate but still cold enough that a bad bottom seal or a cracked panel becomes a real draft problem, not just a cosmetic one, so we'll flag that if we see it even if it's not what you called about.
We can't price a full door replacement without knowing the opening size and whether it's insulated, and we won't quote spring replacement without knowing the door weight. If you want a number before we're on site, give us what you can and we'll tell you honestly what's still a guess.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a firm price over the phone?
Only a range. A firm price needs us to see the spring size, track condition, and opener setup in person. Doors that look identical from the driveway often have different hardware underneath, especially in houses built decades apart, so we'd rather give you an honest range than a number we have to change on site.
Do you work outside Rock Hill itself?
Yes. We cover the surrounding area out to roughly Lake Wylie, York, and McConnells, around 12-13 miles out, and take some jobs as far as Chester, about 20 miles. Call and tell us your location and we'll let you know if it's within reach for the day you need.
What information speeds up my quote?
Door measurements, the opener brand if you can read it off the housing, and a clear description of what's happening - won't open, grinding noise, opener runs but door stays put. A photo of the spring and track area helps us flag likely issues before we even arrive.
What won't you take on?
Commercial rolling doors, gate operators, and custom-fabricated panels aren't jobs we quote. We also won't give a firm structural repair price without inspecting it first - a sagging header or pulled track needs to be seen, not described.
